More Information:
Based on the book Extraordinary Women, Extraordinary Times: Canadian Women of WWII by Sherry Pringle, and produced by Dale Morrisey, this powerful 4-part series provides an untold perspective on the thousands of young women who played crucial, but often overlooked roles, during World War II.
The screening will take place at the NOTL Museum (43 Castlereagh Street) and will feature Part 2: ‘Marching to War.’
These women were soldiers, nurses, factory workers or civilians, and the work they did freed up the men for combat roles,” says Morrisey. “They played a critical role in the Allied victory – but many of their stories are only being discovered today.”
Morrisey, an accomplished filmmaker whose historical documentaries include Forgotten Ontario, Flight of the Royal George, and The Father of Hockey, will offer a guest introduction and host a Q &A following the presentation. The NOTL Museum will feature Part 4 as part of its Remembrance Day programming in November 2026.
